The Laurisilva route in our Festival will take place on Friday, the 4th of November.
We’ve been telling you for a while that we offer much more than just a hiking event, as our main purpose is to show you all the fascinating wonders we have in Gran Canaria.
In this route we will demonstrate how the ‘alisios’ winds are essential for the forest we have in the island, which we know as Selva de Doramas.
Many endemic species can be found in this ecosystem, making it so special and attractive as it is the only place in the World where to find them.
We will walk about 7 km, with spectacular sections with trails surrounded by green and leafy vegetation. You will be able to find out why Gran Canaria is much more than just sandy beaches.
The trail has a light descent from La Laguna to the town of Valleseco, through the ravines of Tabuco and Las Ánimas, where we will enjoy dense and thick vegetation. It is an ancient shelter of our ancestors which they used as protection against the island’s conquerors. This trail will lead us through the characteristic vegetation the island has since many centuries ago.
Once we arrive to the ‘Montaña de Firgas’, we will cross the last section through the urban area of this marvellous town, and we will end the route in the Melva Suite Hotel.
The Gran Canaria Natural & Active associates will host us with a delightful sample of typical food from Gran Canaria.
Knowing the Laurisilva will only have a 22€ fee and it includes:
Guided route with an interpreter of the natural, ethnographic and cultural values of the island.
Round trip shuttle to the beginning and end of the route (from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Playa del Inglés).
Expert and multilingual mountain guides.
Food fair in Melva Suite Hotel.
We are sure that you won’t like to miss our #LaurisilvaRoute. You can book it here.
