Bold hikers, this is the route for you! There is so much diversity along the 14 km route. You will soon understand why Gran Canaria is known as the “miniature continent”. The views afforded from upon high will be a sheer delight, as will the cool pine fresh breeze, as the path gradually turns into a more craggy and eroded terrain, on lands formerly used for agriculture.
The lands converge on the Ravines of Agaete, Artenara and Gáldar which still treasure a rich aboriginal and Spanish Conquistador history, along with great natural and cultural values the whole area harbours. You will cross a number of important reservoirs along the island’s interior and other areas which used to make full use of the peculiarities of its waters, including the 19th century spas, or the 20th century water mills, which are scattered around the rolling hillsides of the Ravine of Agaete.
